ABOUT OUR GLOW……. HERE'S THE DRIP!

I am an African-American woman with fair skin.  Being out in extreme temperatures has always caused my skin to either dry out or burn easily.  My skin is sensitive, so finding the perfect product to moisturize and protect my skin has always been a struggle.  I’ve spent countless dollars on skin care products but none seemed to be just-right.  Many contained harsh chemicals which caused irritation to my skin.

I began to research which ingredients work well for people with melanin skin.  Through my research, I discovered that my skin type is more sensitive in the summer than winter.  The skin becomes easily irritated and burns. The reason for this is because under every pore of the skin lies a sebaceous gland which produces natural oils called sebum.  The sebaceous gland produces more oil in humid and hot weather which tends to stimulate the secretion of the sebum, leading to more oil on the skin.  Oily skin can clog pores and cause breakouts. It’s recommended to use a lighter oil on the skin in these weather conditions.  The opposite effect happens in cold climates. The skin tends to dry out from lack of oil.  It's recommended to use a heavier oil in cold weather.

The more I researched, the more knowledgeable I became yet fearful that there was no product around that would work wonders for my skin type.  Then I thought of my late grandmother, Leora Bowser.  She was extremely creative and made everything using natural ingredients.  She was a motivator and would have surely encouraged me to create a product of my own.  Thinking about this inspired me to do just that.  Bow2her Beauty came into fruition!
